North Shore no more
The most extensive section of boardwalk down by Fox Howl has been levelled. Whilst you have to feel sorry for the work put in by Delamere Bike Club, I can't say I'm particularly sorry this section has gone. It was a little unsightly and had gone past being useful and into stuntz n madskillz territory.Call me old-fashioned but I'm there because of the trail, rather than the trail being there because of me. Ok, so that's never entirely true, but it felt right to see the forest return to it's old condition. I nearly wrote natural there, but you know what I mean.
Picture shamelessly lifted from Steve Makin's excellent collection. I didn't even ask. Simon Barnes ruling.
Oh yeah, and I ran 17 miles yesterday.

Hey, that's me in the pic :)
North Shore stuff does look pretty ugly, can be fun to ride it sometimes though.
I know, you ruled!
I dunno, that stretch just seemed like a solution in search of a problem.
Shame, I quite liked riding it.
Steve,
I am always impressed by someone who can run 17 miles at one time. maybe I will be able to do this in the future.
I would be interested in your time for this feat!!!
Hi Chris - you must be John's mate? I'm guessing 17m... nearly 3 hours and going off a conservative 10' mile pace for offroad and hills.
17 mile run just for the hell of it... I'm impressed.
You are a 'sometimes' run without watch man.
Me... I could never do that, I like my stats too much! ;-)
lunatic!
I'd love to know what stretch of ex-what you're on about, but I do applaud the 17 miles running bit.
