The drug that keeps on giving

I keep trying to run less and ride more. But it's just so damn easy — shoes on, out the door.

Anyway, I've just come to the end of seven days on. Just to see if I could really. It doesn't really make sense training-wise for where my fitness is at. Still, if I was Matt, I'd only have another 358 days to go. And if I was Ron Hill, only another 43 years. Luckily I'm not.

Low point on the fifth day, but by six and seven I was hungry for miles again and had recovered from the heavy legs earlier in the week. 38 miles in total, which will be an all time record for me. Chastening to think this is barely above 'beginner' schedule in the training plan I was looking at in the library.

Hot aches on the bike today, those new winter gloves aren't quite as warm as I'd hoped.

Worthy of double cake portions!

You'll be zooming around soon after training like that.

Sore throat seems to taking hold again so no plodding for me just yet - really want to get out and do a bit now. Hey ho.

It was super cold today, though.

so, is 38 miles a week what I have to aim for? sounds a long way! I can feel my shins cracking already.

Cake is a given John.
With your addictive personality Matt, I'd say be cautious :)
4 runs a week? 4 or 5 miles, with one a bit longer and you'd be flying. I'm probably a better coach than runner tbh...
